New to the Corporation of the City of Aberdeen on 15th October 1924 - Purchased for the sum of 825 Road Tax. It saw continuous use on the streets of Aberdeen, until sold in 1958 to J G Barrack - Haulage Contractor. It was painted in their Green Colurs and was used to keep the entrance roads to their site clear until it was retired in 1960. It laid undused in a corner until 1983 - when Mr Barrack returned the vehicle to Aberdeen District Council on extended loan. By this time the Laffley was now in a sad and dilapidated state and was stripped down to every last nut and bolt by the Cleansing Department, and fully restored to its former glory and painted back to the fleet colours of the time. Thought to be the only remaining working survivor. The Laffley was manufactured in France and sold through Laffley England LTD. at 20 Lonsdale Road, London W6.
